Joseph Silva honed his professional sales skills over more than a decade. He entered the job market as a Marketing Associate for Hallsmith-Sysco Food Services, LLC, a Norton, Massachusetts-based company. Working a Rhode Island territory, he sold more than 18,000 products from fresh meats to walk-in refrigerators. After two years, he moved to Novartis Pharmaceuticals and for the next four years specialized in dermatological and podiatric sales. In 2004, Joseph Silva accepted a position as Brachytherapy Manager for C.R. Bard, Inc. He covered sales in seven northeastern states and eventually focused on a Bard’s line of urology products. His next step took him to New England Mobile Adz, an East Providence start-up investment company where he served as Vice President of Sales and Operations until the company was sold in 2007, and he joined Stryker.
Working since the age of 13 as a dishwasher in an East Providence, Rhode Island, seafood restaurant, and eventually accepting his first life promotion at 14 to bus boy, Silva has always displayed an intangible knack for hard work and results. Working his way through college as a local waiter at various eateries and watering holes, while also a varsity athlete, taught Silva focus, responsibility, and discipline; vital attributes that translate to his current personal and professional success. Joseph Silva prepared for a business career by studying at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. There he played on the men’s varsity ice hockey team and participated in the Investment Club. He completed his studies in 1997 earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. An active individual throughout his life, he continues to enjoy ice hockey and inline hockey, and is a fan of the Boston Bruins hockey team. In his spare time, Silva enjoys making wine, MC-ing and DJ-ing family parties, attending New England Patriots games (only in Miami, where it’s warm), and spending time with family in Bristol, Rhode Island.
